Every San Jose member is a servant of Jesus Christ.
We have no hierarchy, just men and women gifted in diverse ways, all seeking to use those talents to serve Jesus and to serve our community.
All ministries are open to new participants. Some of our current ministries include:
- City Rescue Mission
- Congregational Life
- Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes
- LIFE Groups
- Next Level College
- Planning and Facilities
- Stepping Stones Preschool
- Taylor Residences
Our curriculum utilizes Bible stories, a core virtue, and a memory verse each month while offering engaging presentations of the 3 Basic Truths:
- I need to make the wise choice.
- I can trust God no matter what.
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
We throw in some unforgettable illustrations of how God works in our lives to make us more like Him.
Sundays, 9:30 – 11:30 am

Wednesday evenings, 7:00 - 8:00 pm

We also have annual programs such as
- Family Fun Fest
- Vacation Bible School

- and much more!
All of our Children's Classes meet in our Family Life Center.
The San Jose Youth Group exists as a group of teens who live in or around Jacksonville Florida, who work together to learn who Jesus was, why He mattered, and how that affects our lives.
We welcome all teens from 6th grade through high school graduation.
We stay actively involved in each other's lives through Bible classes, service projects, summer camps, youth rallies, recreational trips, mission trips and lock-ins.
Our prayer is that by the time a student graduates from our youth ministry he or she has a firm grasp on her own faith, and is ready to walk with God in the next stages of life.
L.I.F.E. Groups: Where Life Happens!
L.I.F.E. groups are gatherings of 8 to 12 adults who meet weekly in the homes of our members. Meetings normally take place on Sundays. These gatherings provide a safe environment where people can share as much or as little as they want about their own lives, while growing deeper relationships with others who believe in Jesus.
We hope that participants in our L.I.F.E. groups will:
- Grow in love for Jesus, each other, and the hurting of Jacksonville;
- Become more involved in the lives of each other and in the life of our community;
- Experience true fellowship with each other;
- Use their groups as a reach out tool for evangelism.
Guests are Welcome at any Group Meeting
The Next Level Ministy is a group of college students and college-aged young adults who are balancing college and/or careers to and for God's glory.
This ministry meets together weekly for bible study and life group.
We are active in fellowship, service and outreach. If you are college-aged and looking for a place to get plugged in to what God is doing in our lives and communities, you have found it.
We are commited to evangelism and world-wide church growth through missions.
Our missions outreach is growing.
Presently, we support mission work in:
- Momotombo, and
- Malpaisillo, Nicaragua.
Every summer, our members are invited to go on mission campaigns to assist these works.
Stepping Stones Preschool is a ministry of the San Jose Church of Christ and is accredited through ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International).
We offer preschool with early morning and after-school care options for children ages 2 - 4, and we offer VPK for our 4 year olds.
Taylor Foundation is a private non-profit organization that develops retirement services for older adults.
Taylor Foundation has provided quality housing and services for seniors for over 40 years.
Today, these facilities provide housing and care for approximately 700 residents, with a staff of 380 dedicated people.
Our congregation supports these long-standing non-profit facilities right here in Jacksonville.
United Community Outreach Ministry (UCOM):
This non-profit "Neighbors helping Neighbors" community outreach provides a variety of services to thousands of individuals and families.
Our congregation supports this outreach by holding food collection dates.
The food is then taken to UCOM for weekly distribution
City Rescue Mission:
Some of our male members meet with ~100 men at the Mission the 2nd Thurs. of each month.
They are led in singing, prayer, a short message from God’s Word, and fellowship.
